AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving

In a unexpected crossover event that breaks traditional expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Disclosed

According to the official statement, "A strange encounter pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of forbidden practices and fearsome transformations resonate through the shadows." The storyline features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine sect.

The questline centers on "bizarre tests and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Settings and Transformations

The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a striking moment showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Bonus Material

Players who finish the adventure will obtain an unique katana in addition to multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Survey Corps steed

Third Free Story Addition

This update also brings the game's latest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with famous anime properties. The series previously featured a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla unofficially featured a quest that clearly nodded to the famous series One-Punch Man.
